The file mailing.txt is the latest version of the SURVEY package together with some possible exercises using them.

The file macSURVEY.Hqx contains executable versions for the macintosh. They have been encoded into ascii text using binhex 4.0. To reconvert them into a mac application, you will need either binhex 4.0 or stuffit expander. Binhex 4.0 and Stuffit Expander are widely distributed on bulletin boards including ftp.support.apple.com.

The file 1994exercises.txt contains exercises used at UVa in the fall semester 1994 together with grading macros written in Splus. The textbook at that time was Sarndal et al, Model Assisted Survey Sampling.

The directory 1996exercises.txt contains exercises and grading macros used at UVa in the spring semester 1996 together with s-plus macros to illustrate adaptive cluster sampling. The textbook was Thompson, Steven K.: Sampling

The directory 1997exercises.txt contains exercises used at UVa in the fall semester 1997. The textbook was again Sarndal. Included are some Splus macros to analyze data. These macros are not designed for large data sets, rather they are designed to illustrate, through the computer code, the mathematical structure of the formulae in Sardal. A refined version of these exercises appears in the directory splus99.dir.
